Job summary

Ballard Spahr is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to support the Finance department in multifamily real estate financings. The role requires thorough review of title, survey, and zoning documents, as well as due diligence coordination with title companies and vendors.

A college degree is preferred and Fannie Mae/HUD program experience is a plus. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in the Baltimore, Minneapolis, or Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• Commercial real estate experience with a law firm, title company, commercial lender, or related entity.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing title, survey, and zoning documents, coordinating with title companies, surveyors, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and secure final title policies.
• Preparation and tracking of legal closing checklists.
• Organizing, tracking, and reviewing due diligence documents, including property level due diligence and organizational documents.
• Preparing summaries of due diligence documents, including drafting full abstracts of complicated agreements.
• Drafting routine and more complex transaction documents.
• Ordering, tracking, and reviewing legal searches from third-party vendors and summarizing issues.
• Preparing and filing UCCs and other required filings.
