Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an outpatient psychotherapist for a hybrid in-person/virtual role serving patients of all ages with episodic care. The position emphasizes a generalist approach across individual, couple, family, and group therapy within a collaborative behavioral health team.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work or psychology and relevant Wisconsin/Illinois licensure or eligibility. Strong communication, crisis intervention, and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
• State licensure as a Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker Clinical license in WI or IL.
• Experience in behavioral health therapy preferred.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention and coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual, couple, family and/or group therapy, including crisis intervention.
• Delivers clinical services to diverse clients and applies brief intervention models.
• Creates assessments, treatment plans, and monitors progress.
• Performs case management and utilization reviews; educates patients and families.
• Makes referrals within and outside the Hospital and coordinates discharge planning.
• Participates in supervision, peer reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Engages in community education, outreach, and marketing to develop new business.
• Completes documentation (treatment plans, discharge summaries, aftercare, billing).
• Contributes to treatment development and performance improvement initiatives.
