Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and at least five years' clinical nursing experience preferred.
• RN licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state.
• Strong clinical experience and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in outpatient CDI or coding preferred.
• Ability to work with physicians and clinical staff professionally.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Documentation Improvement: assess outpatient records to capture severity, risk, and medical necessity.
• Outpatient HCC coding: assign ICD-10-CM for outpatient encounters with high accuracy.
• Query providers to address documentation gaps and ensure compliant coding.
• Educate providers and clinical staff on documentation best practices.
• Collaborate with providers, HIM, and coding teams to improve documentation quality and reimbursement.
