Job summary

Origis Energy is seeking an Operational Technology Senior Specialist in Austin, TX, hybrid work model. This role supports, maintains, and secures the control systems and communications for large-scale PV solar plants and the ROC. It emphasizes uptime, NERC CIP compliance, and cybersecurity across OT assets.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of OT/SCADA or controls support experience in renewable energy or utility-scale solar environments.
• Familiarity with PV plant SCADA systems and technologies (Ignition, Power Factors, OSI).
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, IEC 61850).
• Hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 networking, IP addressing, VLANs, and cybersecurity tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA, networking, and control systems at utility-scale solar plants.
• Monitor DAS, weather stations, inverters, and plant controllers for reliable telemetry.
• Support ROC/Field team with real-time monitoring, alarm response, and shift coordination.
• Escalate and troubleshoot SCADA issues, including communications-loss events and network alarms.
• Maintain secure OT networks with firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
