Job summary

UMBC invites applications for an Operations and Communications Coordinator for the Institute for Harnessing Data and Model Revolution in the Polar Regions (iHARP). Reporting to the Center Director, you will coordinate day-to-day operations and Center communications with collaborators on and off campus.

The role requires a bachelor's degree, at least three years in project management or communications, and strong written and verbal skills, plus proficiency with Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in project management, communications, and business administration or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to learn new administrative systems and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating day-to-day center administrative operations and resolving routine issues.
• Responding to routine questions regarding payroll, travel, events, conference registration, and communications.
• Coordinating facilities work orders, building access requests, and monitoring inventory.
