Job summary

The University of California, Office of the President, in Oakland, CA, seeks an Operational Excellence Manager - Organizational Consultant 4 to drive process improvement and organizational effectiveness on a hybrid basis. The role anchors on-site days in Oakland and leads Lean Six Sigma initiatives across UCOP.

You will train staff, coach cross-functional teams, develop project charters, dashboards, and AI-enabled improvement efforts while advancing the OE Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in process improvement, project management, or related field.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred (minimum 1 year).
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Process Improvement training programs for UCOP staff (White Belt and Yellow Belt training).
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex organizational issues using Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and Change Management.
• Lead and facilitate process improvement projects across UCOP departments with charters, timelines and resource plans.
• Monitor project progress and report outcomes to leadership; support AI technologies in improvement efforts (RPA and GenAI).
• Launch and facilitate the OE Community of Practice and collaborate on knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify high-impact improvement opportunities and develop communications.
• Contribute to the OE Center of Excellence website development and metrics reporting.
