Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Coding Analyst to support the Research Billing Department at Texas Oncology in Richardson, TX. This full-time hybrid role reports to the Business Office Director and requires attention to coding accuracy and payer guidance.

Ideal candidates will have CPC certification, at least three years of medical coding experience, and familiarity with CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, and CMS policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Successful completion of AAPC Certified Professional Coder Exam required.
• Minimum three years medical coding experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Review requests for coding changes (CPT/HCPCS, diagnosis, modifiers, placement) based on payer denials to ensure accurate coding and billing.
• Abstract relevant clinical information from medical records to assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes per guidelines.
• Review and correct coding errors post-claim processing/denial and refile corrected claims.
• Use LCD/NCD policies to ensure accurate coding for CMS region.
• Utilize coding tools such as Optum Encoder and CMS guidelines.
• Code with an accuracy of 95% or higher per QA reviews.
