Job summary

Flatrock Manor is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to help residents gain independence through person-centered, trauma-informed care. You will assess, plan, and implement skill-building therapies and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in a hybrid setting, balancing in-office and remote work.

The role requires Michigan OT licensure, a strong OT foundation, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current, valid Occupational Therapy license in Michigan.
• Knowledge of OT principles, practices, and treatment approaches.
• Comfort using computer programs and creative media for planning and documentation.
• Ability to work with diverse individuals and goals.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and current practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform skill acquisition assessments focused on daily living activities.
• Develop individualized skill goals and intervention plans for independence.
• Complete sensory assessments and set sensory therapy goals.
• Conduct adaptive assessments and provide clinical recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, psychiatrists, and medical staff.
• Participate in trainings and planning meetings as required.
• Support community-based experiences and outings when available.
• Communicate daily activities to supervisor using required tools (FIN).
• Maintain professional relationships with residents and staff.
• Advocate for residents' rights and complete tasks assigned by supervisor.
