24 Seven Talent is seeking a strategic Planning & Buying Manager in New York City to lead inventory planning, assortment strategy, and purchasing across multiple channels. This hands-on role owns buying decisions to support sales, margin, and inventory goals.

The position requires strong Open-to-Buy planning, forecasting, and inventory analysis, with advanced Excel skills and experience in fashion or consumer products. Hybrid work in NYC three days onsite.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, buying, or merchandising.
• Experience in fashion, apparel, retail, or consumer products.
• Strong Open-to-Buy planning, forecasting, and inventory analysis background.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong financial and analytical abilities.
• Experience with e-commerce or inventory management systems.
• Organized, commercially minded, and decisive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage Open-to-Buy plans, forecasts, and inventory strategies.
• Balance sales, margin, inventory productivity, and availability.
• Monitor inventory health, sell-through, weeks of supply, stock-to-sales, and inventory turn.
• Identify inventory risks and opportunities including stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Lead buying and assortment strategies by category, SKU, color, and size.
• Evaluate product performance to guide replenishment and assortment changes.
• Partner with pricing, promotions, markdowns, and product launches.
• Own business reporting and present recommendations to leadership.
• Provide direction and support to junior buying and merchandising team members.
