Job summary

The New York Times Company in New York City is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer for the Reflections team to build personalized experiences that engage readers across our platforms.

You’ll collaborate with native mobile, web, backend engineers, product managers, designers and data experts, own features end-to-end, and help shape products used by millions of readers in a hybrid office setting two days per week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of building user-facing features in a team environment.
• 2+ years owning features from design to launch.
• 2+ years navigating and unblocking technical challenges.
• 2+ years partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering to solve user problems.
• 2+ years building backend services with Go, Node.js/Express, GraphQL, and cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
• 2+ years working with SQL/databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack feature development from design to production.
• Collaborate with design, product, web/backend and mobile engineers to refine requirements.
• Contribute ideas shaping product direction and take on meaningful work.
• Develop full-stack solutions across the technology stack.
• Provide production support through on-call rotations.
