Job summary

DIRECTV in New York City is seeking a System Engineer 2 with strong full stack software development and applied AI experience to build and deploy AI-powered products across our Advertising Technology ecosystem. This is a hands-on coding role with end-to-end responsibility for frontend experiences, backend services, APIs, AI integrations, data access, cloud deployment, and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with full stack development across frontend and backend.
• Proven experience delivering customer-facing or internal enterprise applications from concept through production.
• Experience integrating foundation models, agents, retrieval services, and intelligent automation into production software.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate AI-enabled applications with frontend and backend components.
• Build user-friendly interfaces and APIs that present AI-generated insights clearly.
• Configure AI cowork environments for collaboration between business users and AI agents.
• Own features end-to-end with maintainable, well-tested production code.
• Apply security, performance, and accessibility best practices across the stack.
• Develop scalable backend services using modern APIs and microservice patterns.
• Integrate applications with enterprise APIs, Snowflake, and data stores, ensuring secure contracts and observability.
• Implement CI/CD, IaC, automated tests, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Troubleshoot issues across frontend, APIs, models, and cloud services.
• Ensure responsible AI and data-governance compliance.
