DIRECTV is seeking a Principal System Engineer 2 in New York City, a hands‑on senior role spanning architecture, production code, and platform services. You will own end‑to‑end design and operation of multi‑agent AI systems across the Advertising Technology ecosystem.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years in software/system roles, expert Python, and experience with LLMs, distributed systems, and enterprise integration. This is a hybrid NYC position with in‑office Tuesdays/Thursdays optional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5–7 years of progressive software, systems, platform, or architecture experience.
• Proven experience building and deploying agentic AI or GenAI systems beyond proofs of concept.
• Leadership from discovery through production and end‑to‑end technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production multi‑agent systems, including planners and coordinators.
• Define orchestration patterns for agent delegation and deterministic workflow control.
• Write production code and reference implementations, not just diagrams.
• Collaborate with business users to design shared contexts and memory systems.
• Build backend services, APIs, and integration with enterprise data platforms.
