Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Edina, MN is seeking a Nursing Station Technician to support ICU operations on the evening shift. This hybrid role combines nursing assistant and health unit coordination tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The NST assists caregivers, transports patients and supplies, maintains unit desks, and ensures smooth communications on the care unit under nurse supervision. Eligible candidates may have BLS or related nursing program enrollment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required with ability to obtain full certification if not yet completed.
• Completion of Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant program or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months direct care experience in care settings.
• Enrollment in an LPN/RN program with clinical rotation completed.
• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional caregiver in patient care delivery and transportation of patients/equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms; reorder and stock supplies; clerical duties.
• Maintain unit desk operations; process admissions, discharges, and orders; transcribe where needed.
• Coordinate communication flow on the patient care unit under nurse supervision.
• Perform additional duties as needed on a hybrid Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator role.
