Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer to perform routine calculations under mentorship, with the Burr Ridge, IL facility requiring at least 2 days per week on-site.

You'll develop skills in nuclear safety analysis, document evaluations, and interface with customers and teams. The position offers a hybrid schedule, competitive base pay, and a path to broader responsibilities within the safety services group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear).
• Entry level to 2 years of experience.
• Coding in Mathcad, C++, Fortran, and Visual Basic.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations related to nuclear safety, fluid flow, probability risk assessment, equipment qualification, heat and mass transfer, by manager.
• Prepare appropriate documentation supporting evaluations and analyses.
• Verify routine design evaluations and analyses performed by others, as qualified.
• Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other teams on engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
• Obtain results to routine technical problems.
• Plan and schedule own work to meet assignment requirements within schedule and budgetary requirements.
