Job summary

Duke Energy’s Brunswick and Oconee Nuclear Design (BOND) group designs and analyzes fuel cycles for Brunswick Nuclear Plant in North Carolina and Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina. The role supports BWR core design, with responsibilities spanning analysis, code development, and vendor interface.

The position offers a hybrid office/remote work arrangement after onboarding, occasional travel, and opportunities to contribute to nuclear safety analyses and license documents.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required; MS considered as substitution for BS.
• Professional Engineer license preferred or state registration required for Senior level.
• Experience with BWR fuel cycle design and core monitoring is desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate on reload design teams to design fuel cycles.
• Develop and verify analyses for fuel cycle designs.
• Develop, qualify, and maintain in-house codes used in support of fuel cycle designs.
• Interface with fuel vendors and perform owner acceptance reviews of vendor calculations.
