Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with government-funded programs, governmental accounting, grant management, and/or audit compliance requirements is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, month-end close, and budgeting processes
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work independently in a lean environment

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process and preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related accounting
• Administer fund accounting and ensure compliance with grant, contract, and governmental funding requirements
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
• Coordinate annual audit activities and serve as a primary liaison to external auditors
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Partner with leaders throughout the organization to provide financial guidance, reporting, and budget support
• Identify process improvements and help enhance operational efficiency across finance functions
