Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Assistant Vice President to monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure, resolving more complex technical issues while minimising disruption to operations. You will lead incident management, collaborate with vendors, and drive automation and process improvements in a hybrid role in Whippany, NJ.

The position includes on-call duties, escalation handling, and ownership of governance controls to strengthen service reliability and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of network and core infrastructure services including routing/switching, App Delivery, Proxy and Internet Access, and DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
• Create and maintain support documentation to facilitate incident management and service recovery.
• Handle follow-the-sun operational activities including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Investigate incidents to resolution, ensuring network services meet SLAs.
• Manage lifecycle and hygiene of network devices to maintain production data network integrity.
• Coordinate with vendors to perform root cause analysis and restore services.
• Coordinate break-fix activities within change windows.
• Use observability to monitor the network estate and identify issues proactively.
• Review processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain asset/license inventory for Core Networks and serve as a point of contact during escalations.
• Be the on-call point for escalations and off-hours support.
• Identify opportunities for automation of daily tasks.
