Job summary

Exec Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is seeking a Network Engineer to join the Network Engineering Team in a hybrid role based in Chelsea, MA. The engineer will manage multi-vendor network configurations within a cloud environment, upgrade Juniper gear, and design site-to-site VPNs for secure access to Commonwealth data centers.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience with Juniper or Cisco networks, including VPNs, QoS, VLAN design, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

Qualifications

Three years of hands-on experience configuring and implementing a multi-vendor hardware network (Juniper or Cisco) within a cloud-based environment.
Three years of experience configuring VPN tunnels on Juniper or Cisco Routers.
Two years of cloud experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.

Responsibilities

Participate on Major Incident conference bridges to help with troubleshooting to resolution.
Prepare transition documents for Network Operations when new systems are deployed.
Attend bi-weekly status meetings and provide updates to management.
Stay current with network technologies through vendor seminars, online courses, and paid training.
Assist with design of site‑to‑site VPN tunnels for secure connectivity to data centers.
Collaborate with users, vendors, and technical teams to identify and fix problems.
Follow change management processes and document impact of network changes.
Assist design of complex Core and WAN networks, IP and routing summarization.
