Job summary

The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS) is hiring a Network Engineer to join the Network Engineering Team in Chelsea, MA. This role focuses on configuring and implementing a multi-vendor network in a cloud-based environment, with responsibilities spanning VPN design, hardware upgrades, and 3rd-tier support for critical incidents.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of hands-on experience with configuring and implementing a multi-vendor hardware network (Juniper or Cisco) within a cloud-based environment.
• Three (3) years of hands-on experience with configuring VPN tunnels on Juniper or Cisco Routers.
• Three (3) years of experience with network concepts including STP, VPC, MPLS, QoS, and VLAN design.
• Two (2) years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
• Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IGRP, EIGRP, RIP).
• Ability to create Visio diagrams for network deployments.

Responsibilities

• Participate on Major Incident conference bridges to troubleshoot to resolution.
• Prepare transition documents for Network Operations during new deployments.
• Attend bi-weekly status meetings and report to Manager.
• Stay current with network technologies through training and seminars.
• Assist with design of site-to-site VPN tunnels for secure data center access.
• Collaborate with users, vendors, and teams to identify and resolve problems.
• Follow change management processes and document impact of changes.
• Design complex Core and WAN networks, including IP and routing summarization.
• Design QoS, ACL, and traffic shaping configurations and implement them.
• Create detailed Visio diagrams for hardware deployments.
• Join design meetings with vendor partners to discuss updates.
• Retrieve hardware quotes from resellers for procurement.
