Job summary

System One seeks a Network Engineer I for a hybrid role in Columbia, MD. The position combines design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise networks with hands-on support and documentation duties.

You will work with Cisco routers/switches, SD-WAN, and security tools, contributing as a technical expert on project teams. 6-month contract with conversion salary potential, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year directly related network engineering experience or 3+ years managing large enterprise network environments.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or CWNA preferred.
• Experience with Cisco routers/switches (4500/Nexus 9K - 2800/2900/4300) and network security techs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise network solutions.
• Provide tier-3 technical support to network operations and maintain design documentation.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Operations teams on vendor selection and tech evaluations.
• Support SD-WAN deployment and maintenance (HPE Silver Peak, Cisco Meraki, Zscaler, Cisco ISE).
• Deliver changes and training to ensure smooth service transitions and incident remediation.
