Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Network Architect to design and optimize secure, scalable network architectures using Palo Alto firewall and Juniper switching, routing, wireless and security technologies. The Architect will drive hybrid work model solutions for hi tech clients ensuring robust connectivity, strong security posture and operational efficiency across complex enterprise environments while mentoring teams and aligning designs with business outcomes.

This is a remote role.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise with Juniper platforms, Mist wireless, routing, switching, and SD-WAN.
• Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewall platforms and security operations integration.
• Proven ability to design, implement and maintain scalable enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive enterprise network architectures that integrate Palo Alto firewall platforms with Juniper switching, routing, and wireless solutions to provide secure, reliable connectivity for complex hybrid environments.
• Develop scalable network security designs applying Palo Alto policies and segmentation strategies to protect critical applications and data.
• Create design documentation for wired and wireless infrastructures built on Juniper hardware and Juniper Mist platforms for clear implementation and maintenance.
• Optimize routing and switching configurations across Juniper devices to achieve high performance, low latency, and resilience.
• Configure and refine wireless networking solutions using Juniper Mist and related technologies to deliver stable, secure user experiences across locations.
• Review firewall rules and security policies across Palo Alto and Juniper environments to identify risks and enforce consistent configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into network designs supporting product development and cloud adoption.
• Guide operational teams through problem analysis and troubleshooting for firewall, switching, routing, and wireless incidents.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability to proactively detect performance issues and security events.
• Evaluate emerging network technologies within Palo Alto and Juniper ecosystems and recommend improvements for automation and resilience.
• Align network designs with corporate compliance and data protection standards across regulations.
• Coordinate change planning, testing, and cutover activities for major deployments in a hybrid workspace while minimizing disruption.
• Mentor peers and junior architects on firewall design and routing strategies to disseminate architectural knowledge.
