Job summary

Alpharus Health in Chicago, IL seeks a Network Administrator to join our IT team. This hybrid role requires in-office presence three times per week at our Chicago office.

You will manage network infrastructure, Windows Server, Azure, and security, ensuring uptime, backups, and business continuity while collaborating with vendors and internal teams. Strong communication with users and thorough documentation are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Network Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years in network or systems administration and infrastructure support.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Azure.
• Experience with cloud/on-prem infrastructure, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to document systems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support network infrastructure and related platforms.
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and reliability through monitoring and maintenance.
• Manage user access, Active Directory, and security controls per policy.
• Support Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Azure, virtualization, and email services.
• Support backup, recovery, continuity processes to ensure data integrity.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex network and systems issues.
• Assist with projects, upgrades, migrations, and modernization.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, inventories, and procedures.
• Evaluate performance and propose improvements for reliability and security.
• Participate in on-call rotations and other duties.
