Job summary

Oregon Water Resources Department in Salem, OR seeks a Programmer Analyst (Information Systems Specialist 4) to analyze, develop, and enhance its desktop and web applications. You will code, debug, and test software with senior staff, and query databases to prepare datasets for reports and spreadsheets.

The role focuses on keeping critical systems stable and accessible, supporting Oregon’s water management needs within a hybrid work model. Remote work is eligible with occasional on-site meetings.

Qualifications

• Three years of information systems experience in software, SQL and/or web application development.
• An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; AND three years of information systems experience in software, SQL and/or web application development.
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, and enhance the department's custom desktop and web applications.
• Code, debug, and test software with guidance from senior staff.
• Query databases to prepare datasets for applications, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Support critical system infrastructure to remain stable and accessible.
