Job summary

ManTech seeks a Hull Structural Engineer to join our team at the Washington DC Navy Yard. The role supports Nimitz (CVN 68) and Ford (CVN 78) ship design projects, focusing on hull systems and interface with the Hull System Engineering Manager.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 7+ years of Navy experience, with clearances as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and write technical documentation.
• Experience communicating with senior government and military leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and risk assessment for decisions related to Nimitz and Ford class ships.
• Perform engineering analyses, research, and problem solving based on operational experience.
• Issue technical responses via official communication channels (DFS, LAR, SPAR, AWP changes).
• Coordinate Ship Alterations and Technical Assessment reviews.
• Review PMS changes requiring DTR review.
• Collaborate with Engineering Agents, TYCOM, PMS, and shipyards to resolve technical matters.
