AXIS Capital is seeking a hands-on casualty treaty underwriting professional to manage a portfolio of North American General Casualty and Workers’ Compensation Treaty Reinsurance. You will underwrite, price, structure, and negotiate treaty business, working with actuarial, claims, and legal teams to ensure disciplined risk selection and profitability.

The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with travel to service clients, brokers, and attend industry

Qualifications

• Casualty underwriting or reinsurance experience in North America.
• Knowledge of General Casualty and Workers Compensation.
• Pricing concepts and actuarial collaboration experience.
• Ability to assess exposure and experience data, loss development, rate changes, and treaty economics.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite North America general casualty and workers' compensation treaty business.
• Manage renewals and new-business across proportional and non‑proportional treaty structures.
• Assess cedent strategy, controls, and performance to develop an underwriting view.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, contract wording, finance, and legal teams on treaty economics.
• Build and maintain relationships with reinsurance intermediaries and cedent clients to support profitable business origination.
• Contribute to casualty strategy and portfolio management, including appetite and limits.
• Monitor market conditions and casualty loss drivers, including regulatory developments and loss-cost trends.
• Prepare underwriting referrals, portfolio updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Travel to service clients, meet brokers, conduct audits, and attend industry conferences.
• You may also be required to take on additional duties appropriate to the role.
