Job summary

GFT in Mercer, PA is seeking a Municipal Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead medium to large-scale water and wastewater projects. The role emphasizes design, delivery quality, and mentoring junior staff within a hybrid (in-person/remote) work setting.

You will plan, design, and supervise projects, interact with clients, and coordinate with staff and consultants. A PE license and 7+ years in the field are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering; MS preferred.
• Professional Engineer License is required.
• Minimum 7 years of water/wastewater design experience.
• Experience with planning, design, permitting, and construction administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client presentations.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Participate on project teams in planning, design and construction administration of water/wastewater facilities.
• Engage in client interaction, presentations and project coordination.
• Coordinate with staff and consultants; develop standards; lead meetings; track schedules and budgets.
• Design of Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities; prepare basis of design reports, calculations and cost estimates.
• Oversee construction contract management and observation services.
• Prepare technical reports and permit applications.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers.
