Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation in Umatilla seeks a Motor Carrier Auditor to independently conduct audits ensuring compliance with weight-mile tax, over-dimension fees, IRP, and IFTA. Qualifications

• Four years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
• Two of the four years must be above the technical support level.

Responsibilities

• Organize, examine and analyze carrier mileage and fuel records to determine accuracy of tax reports.
• Investigate sources when carrier records are incomplete.
• Research and interpret laws and international agreements for carrier compliance.
• Assess under or over-reported taxes and penalties for non-compliance.
• Document audit findings and recommendations clearly.
