Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Senior Underwriting Specialist in Colorado to underwrite, price, and program complex accounts. You’ll work closely with agency partners and internal teams to ensure quality and service standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years of underwriting experience, with preference for middle market experience in construction, manufacturing, wholesale, real estate, and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related underwriting work experience.
• Experience with middle market underwriting in construction, manufacturing, wholesale, real estate and services is preferred.
• Insurance design concepts and reinsurance procedures knowledge.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price, and program individual policies and accounts with agency and internal partners.
• Handle complex or large accounts and refer outside authority when needed.
• Evaluate procedures for effectiveness and recommend changes.
• Collaborate with rating, services, audit, safety sciences, and customer teams.
• Train other underwriters and conduct training on procedures.
