Job summary

ms consultants, inc. in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Engineer to lead project teams and own the technical content of building systems designs from concept through construction.

You will collaborate with in‑house architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and structural engineers on a wide variety of building projects nationwide. The Building Systems unit serves commercial, industrial, and institutional markets with a focus on engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from ABET-accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• BSME or BSEE from an ABET-accredited college of university, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in MEP engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and production of MEP systems for commercial and institutional facilities across multiple industries using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians in the development of high‑quality construction documents and technical specifications.
• Perform preliminary and detailed engineering calculations to support HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing, sanitary, and water supply system designs.
• Coordinate design elements with other in‑house disciplines, including architecture, structures, site civil, and landscape design.
• Contribute to technical decision‑making and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Participate in cross‑training opportunities across all aspects of MEP engineering, with support for continued learning and professional development.
