Job summary

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas is seeking a Medical Director to provide psychiatric and medical oversight for the START program. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, review health needs, and support data-driven decisions to improve client outcomes.

The role includes training, treatment planning collaboration with physicians and hospitals, and ensuring compliance with licensure and professional standards across the network.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or APRN with psychiatry and current licensure in the state.
• Extensive experience treating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience addressing co-occurring mental health and medical needs with multidisciplinary providers.

Responsibilities

• Provides psychiatric and medical consultation, assessment, and treatment recommendations for START teams and individuals served.
• Offers onsite consultation and training for clinical and support staff and collaborates with treating physicians.
• Reviews health needs, conducts assessments, and follows up with recommendations and data-informed plans.
• Participates in monthly Clinical Education Team meetings and supports training and treatment planning.
• Documents assessments and recommendations in line with professional and program standards.
