Job summary

Stella Mental Health in Murray, UT seeks a Medical Coding & Billing Specialist to support revenue cycle and patient financial experience. The role ensures billing accuracy, timely claims, and HIPAA-compliant handling of information.

You will collaborate with Payor Relations, Clinic Operations, and Revenue Cycle teams, resolve billing inquiries, verify insurance, and educate patients on coverage and options. Hybrid role at Murray clinic.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical coding and billing experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong CPT/ICD-10 knowledge and payor requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with sensitive financial conversations.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Experience with EMR/CRM or billing software (Athena, DrChrono).
• Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to commute to Murray office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Review encounter documentation to code, prepare, and submit accurate claims.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits across multiple states/clinics.
• Track claim status, follow up on denials, and initiate appeals.
• Post payments and adjustments in billing system/EMR.
• Coordinate with Payor Relations and clinic teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payor requirements.
• Support monthly reconciliation, reporting, and audits.
