Job summary

Colorado Mesa University is seeking two enthusiastic Adjunct Instructors to teach Medical Assistant courses in Montrose and Grand Junction. Courses may be delivered in a hybrid format, with hands-on labs supported by CMU Tech's Mobile Learning Lab.

Instructors will align teaching with syllabi and program standards, provide student mentoring, and use online platforms to support success. Minimum 3 years in a healthcare role; certifications encouraged; teaching experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare role such as Medical Assisting, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Coding & Billing, Medical Office Management, or EMT/Paramedic.
• National certification (e.g., RMA, CMA, CPhT, CPC, NCCT, etc.) preferred.
• Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Responsibilities: Teach one or more Medical Assistant courses (e.g., administrative procedures, clinical skills, coding/billing, EHR, pharmacology, patient care).
• Deliver instruction aligned with approved syllabi, accreditation guidelines, and program standards.
• Provide student mentoring and support using tools such as Zoom, email, and phone.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment and emphasize hands-on skill development.
