Prime Healthcare is seeking an Ambulatory Medication Access and Referral Coordinator for the Olympia Fields Hospital facility in Olympia Fields, IL. The role supports ambulatory pharmacy workflows, prior authorization, patient outreach, and coordination of care within a hybrid schedule—remote with on-site travel as needed.

The position requires pharmacy technician licensure in IL, CPhT, and at least 3 years in ambulatory or 340B settings, along with EMR and insurance authorization experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current State of IL pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
• Minimum 3 years of experience in ambulatory care, specialty pharmacy, or 340B settings
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and insurance authorization platforms
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards

Responsibilities

• The Ambulatory Medication Access and Referral Coordinator provides expert-level support to the Prime Healthcare Ambulatory Services Team across ambulatory pharmacy workflows, including referral review, scheduling, and data record maintenance.
• Manages prior authorization across all insurance types, specialty access, and financial assistance within ambulatory care.
• Collaborates with providers, pharmacies, payers, and patients to streamline medication access and reduce financial barriers.
• Maintains accurate EMR records of all activities to ensure coordination of care and timely medication access.
• Acts as a liaison and subject matter expert for clinical leadership, providers, and prior authorization coordinators.
