Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Reliability Engineer for Mechanical Systems to oversee reliability of cooling systems across data center facilities. You will participate in equipment submittal reviews, factory witness testing, and design-for-reliability collaboration with Design Engineering and Operations teams.

The role emphasizes maintenance planning, failure analysis, and system performance improvements, with travel up to 25% and remote options depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in critical facility operations and maintenance.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Travel up to 25% with potential for variation.

Responsibilities

• System Validation and Testing: ensure new systems meet design intent and pass facility acceptance testing; review commissioning plans; attend factory witness testing.
• Maintenance and Reliability: design maintenance programs to improve operability and efficiency while minimizing life cycle costs; reduce maintenance downtime; provide technical support during failures; perform component upgrades.
• Design and Construction Collaboration: provide reliability feedback to Design Engineering; work with teams to ensure reliability and maintainability; review submittals for deficiencies.
• Risk Management and Analysis: develop risk management plans; perform root-cause analysis; conduct critical system availability and life cycle analyses.
• Support and Training: provide guidance to Facility Operators; ensure site teams are proficient in operations and maintenance.
• Performance and Asset Management: analyze asset utilization and overall equipment efficiency; design site response procedures; perform Reliability/Availability/M maintainability analysis.
• Additional Duties: handle other tasks as assigned by management.
