Job description

Overview

This is a full-time Therapist position with a 35-hour workweek and a flexible/hybrid schedule. Training in the MDFT model is provided. Bilingual (Spanish and English) required.

Responsibilities

• MDFT Therapists function within the agency's policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and program guide.
• Provide support to clients and families with the knowledge, skills and tools to help maintain the child in their home.
• Achieve outcomes in alignment with NYS, County, and Hope For Youth policy and procedures.
• Perform other necessary work to meet client, program, agency, oversight, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop comprehensive clinical treatment plans including counseling, mental health and substance abuse services for youth with high acuity levels as determined by the CANS-NY.
• Maintain a caseload and manage up to 12 clients at a time (program services up to 50 clinical cases annually).
• Complete MDFT training over 3–6 months; client contact frequency ranges from 1 to 4 times per week as needed.
• Administer a mix of home, community, and office-based interventions and conduct collateral contacts in school or community settings.
• Prepare psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and related documentation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Therapist (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) – required.
• Spanish and English-speaking required.
• Experience is preferred; Hope For Youth will train in the MDFT model.
• Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing.
• Additional abilities include excellent written and verbal skills, flexibility, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of child-serving systems and experience with adolescents are preferred.
