Qualifications

• 5+ years of database administration in enterprise or operational settings.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL in production.
• Strong SQL, including optimization, indexing, and schema maintenance.
• Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery experience.
• Security, access controls, and auditing experience.
• Automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, and SQL.
• Experience in hybrid on‑premise and Azure environments.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust High (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day database administration support for operational systems.
• Install, configure, maintain enterprise database platforms across shipboard, on‑premise, and Azure.
• Support shipboard real-time data collection and analytics.
• Ensure offline-capable database operations and synchronization.
• Maintain data ingestion, transformation, storage services.
• Monitor performance, capacity, availability; optimize queries and indexing.
• Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Enforce database security controls and compliance.
• Develop automation scripts for provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, reporting.
• Maintain technical documentation and system diagrams.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
