Job summary

The Manager, External Reporting at Transamerica is responsible for managing the preparation and coordination of the Company’s SEC filings, leading the day-to-day execution of the SEC reporting process, including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other disclosures under U.S. GAAP.

You will oversee external reporting calendars, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, manage and develop team members, and collaborate with external auditors. Hybrid in-office schedule on Tue-Thu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
• Eight years of accounting/finance experience including three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Strong people management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end preparation and coordination of SEC filings, including quarterly and annual financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A, and supporting schedules, in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Oversee external reporting calendars, disclosure checklists, and filing timelines to ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs and partner with stakeholders across the organization to support the external reporting process.
• Manage, coach, and develop assigned team members. Establish priorities, provide ongoing feedback, and promote a collaborative and high-performing team aligned with the Finance organization’s strategy and values.
• Oversee coordination with external auditors during quarterly reviews, annual audits, and controls testing, including the preparation and review of supporting schedules and responses to auditor requests and comments.
• Support SOX compliance and internal control activities related to external reporting.
• Review financial statements and disclosures and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX requirements, and company-specific accounting policies.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the quality and effectiveness of financial statement disclosures and improve the efficiency of external reporting processes.
• Support the use and optimization of external reporting technology, including Workiva, to strengthen reporting processes, controls, and collaboration.
