Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a skilled Mainframe IMS System Programmer to join our team in Chandler, AZ. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance and ongoing support of IMS on mainframe platforms; travel/local mixing with onsite and remote days is available.

Open for W2 and C2C arrangements, the contract position runs for 6+ months with potential extension. Interview rounds include two rounds, mostly in person, with an emphasis on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mainframe IMS System Programmer.
• Strong knowledge of IMS architecture, database, and transaction management.
• Experience with system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving IMS-related issues.
• Familiarity with mainframe operating systems and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IMS systems on mainframe platforms.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
