Job Description:

The IMS Systems Programmer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IBM Information Management System (IMS) software in a mainframe environment. This role ensures the reliability, availability, and performance of IMS databases and transaction management systems while providing technical support and expertise to application and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, upgrade, and maintain IMS software and related components on IBM z/OS mainframes.
2. Configure and optimize IMS systems for high availability and performance.
3. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply fixes or patches as needed.
4. Provide support for IMS database (DB) and IMS Transaction Manager (TM) environments.
5. Work with application development teams to ensure IMS systems meet business needs.

Technical Skills:

• Products and Tools: IMS/TM, IMS/DB, BMC IMS tools, IMS DB Physical Design, and IMS MSC
• IMS Application programming (Cobol and/or PL/1)
• Languages: z/OS MVS Assembler, PL/1, COBOL, and JCL
