Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established national law firm in Portland, OR to recruit a Litigation Legal Assistant who supports attorneys handling commercial litigation, medical malpractice, and professional liability matters. This role suits a highly organized, proactive legal professional in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid schedule: 37.5 hours/wk, 3 days onsite and 2 remote after training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant.
• Experience with civil litigation and e-filing in Oregon.
• Strong written and verbal communication with detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and litigation support to a team of attorneys.
• Draft, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and electronically file documents in Oregon state and federal courts.
• Manage attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, mediations, deadlines, and client meetings.
• Maintain electronic case files and document management systems.
• Coordinate new matter openings and closings, including file organization and related administrative tasks.
• Enter attorney time, prepare expense reports, and assist with billing and reimbursement requests.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
• Assist with additional administrative projects and operational support as needed.
