Qualifications

  • Strong proofreading, calendaring, file management, and organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using document management, time-entry, electronic filing, and legal practice software.
  • Experience with DocuSign, Simplifile, and FilesAnywhere preferred.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and client service-focused approach.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new practice areas, systems, and software updates.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and forms.
  • E-file documents and pleadings in Oregon state and federal courts.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and docket upcoming deadlines.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, records, documents, and correspondence.
  • Assist with new client and matter intake, including engagement letters and conflict checks.
  • Support the firm’s monthly billing process.
  • Track and submit continuing legal education requirements.
  • Delegate assignments to office assistants and monitor their completion.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and other internal and external contacts.

Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Portland, Oregon

Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days on-site/2 remote after a 90-day training period

Salary: $75,000-$95,000 DOE

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Portland-based law firm to find an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join its collaborative team. This position will typically support three attorneys and one paralegal with legal document preparation, court filings, calendaring, billing, file management, and other day-to-day practice needs.

The ideal candidate will have significant litigation experience, strong knowledge of Oregon state and federal court procedures, and a proactive, client service-focused approach. This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
