Job summary

Orion Placement in Charleston, WV, seeks a seasoned business/commercial litigator to manage complex cases and guide them through all litigation phases. The role offers strong mentorship, a defined partnership path, and a hybrid schedule—three days in the office and two days remote—supporting career growth and client service.

The ideal candidate has a JD, 5+ years of experience, and excellent writing and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
• 5+ years of business or commercial litigation experience.
• Strong discovery, depositions, pleadings, and motion practice.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Trusts and estates litigation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex business and commercial litigation matters.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation.
• Conduct written discovery and defend and take depositions.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and other substantive filings.
• Participate in mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and court appearances.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups.
• Deliver strategic legal advice while maintaining exceptional client service.
