Placements24 is recruiting a Litigation Associate for a reputable law firm in Welkom, Free State. The role offers exposure to civil, commercial, and possibly criminal litigation, with a hybrid work model.

You will work with senior partners on strategy, client representation, and dispute resolution, handling court filings, research, and negotiations. A strong candidate has 3–5 years of post-qualification experience and solid drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in litigation.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Experience drafting court documents and managing case files.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case law, statutes, and precedents.
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other court documents.
• Manage discovery, including document review and depositions.
• Prepare clients for hearings, trials, and other proceedings.
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel and court staff.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in negotiating settlements and resolutions.
• Contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the firm.
