Verrill Dana LLP is seeking an Associate to join our Litigation Practice Group in Westport, CT. The role offers meaningful responsibility, close client interaction, and the chance to work on complex civil matters across industries in a collaborative, top-tier team.

The ideal candidate will hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted or eligible for CT Bar, have 2+ years of litigation experience in CT state/federal courts, and demonstrate strong research, writing, and advocacy skills

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school and CT Bar eligibility or admission timeline.
• 2+ years of litigation and trial experience in CT state and/or federal courts.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills including proficiency with Westlaw.
• Judicial clerkship experience and/or NY State Bar admission is a plus.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with independent judgment.

Responsabilités

• Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Conducting legal research and analysis on complex procedural and substantive issues.
• Managing discovery with strategy development, document review, and responses.
• Assisting with depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Maintaining direct client communication and day-to-day case management.
• Collaborating with colleagues across practices to deliver exceptional client service.
• Contributing to growth and client relationship initiatives.
