Pyramid Consulting, Inc. seeks an Infrastructure Engineering - Linguist III for a 06+ months hybrid contract in Redmond, WA or Burlingame, CA. You will apply linguistic expertise to NLP and ASR tasks, design experiments, and develop scalable transcription processes.

Strong foundations in linguistics and proficiency in Python/SQL are required, along with experience in SAMPA/IPA/ToBI. This role emphasizes high-quality data, waveform analysis, and cross-project collaboration.

Competenze

• Foundational linguistics background (BA/MA/PhD) with applied linguistics knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience in computational linguistics / ASR with quality evaluation (WER/CER/SER).
• Familiarity with transcription/annotation systems such as SAMPA, IPA, ToBI.

Mansioni

• Provide linguistic expertise in phonetics, phonology, lexicography, dialectology, and NLP.
• Design experiments to evaluate transcription quality.
• Develop processes for multiple projects ensuring high-quality label alignments and prosodic classification.
• Create text normalization and inverse text normalization processes.
• Manage lexical transcriptions and related metadata.
• Analyze system metrics to identify and fix pain points.
