Job summary

New America’s Education & Work programs seek an intern to assist with coordination of meetings, events, and initiatives related to the National Commission on Learning Ecosystems. This hybrid role offers exposure to policy work, meeting coordination, and digital content development.

The ideal candidate should commit 10–15 hours weekly starting mid-September through December 18, 2026, with a possible extension into the spring semester based on needs and availability.

Qualifications

• Interest or relevant experience in domestic policy and in education broadly speaking (including nonprofits, schools, museums, and libraries)
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail
• Experience or interest in managing and monitoring LinkedIn accounts
• Ability to take initiative and to collaborate and communicate effectively in a hybrid team
• Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with collaborative platforms for scheduling, document sharing, and task management.

Responsibilities

• Work with the NCLE program manager to give notice of monthly meetings, coordinate materials, and organize requested materials for meetings of the commission
• Coordinate virtual monthly meetings for educators and education leaders around the country who have signed up for virtual learning communities related to ecosystems
• Develop content for our LinkedIn community
• Organize data and tools related to place-based learning ecosystems
• Provide support for public events, such as helping panelists prepare and greeting guests
