Sargent & Lundy in Elkridge, MD seeks a lead design engineer to head a structural team for nuclear facility projects. You will mentor engineers, review designs, and coordinate with clients to ensure safe, compliant results.

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the Elkridge office and 2 days remote. Requires 10+ years in nuclear/industrial structures and a PE/SE license; experience with STAAD/SAP2000/ANSYS is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in design/analysis of industrial/heavy civil or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects.
• Guide design calculations, develop specs, and coordinate with designers.
• Oversee the structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification.
