Job summary

Raymond James Financial, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer - Java Full Stack to drive design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable financial services applications.

You will lead teams, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and ensure alignment with regulatory and risk controls. The role requires strong Java/Spring skills, experience in finance, and a hybrid work arrangement in Saint Petersburg, FL, with in-office presence 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 5+ years’ experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Python, and Angular or similar UI framework.
• 5+ years developing in a financial services environment, with GRC exposure preferred.
• Strong SQL skills with joins, indexes, and aggregation.
• Solid OO fundamentals and experience with REST/SOAP interfaces.
• Familiar with SDLC, Agile, and cloud technologies (AWS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex system requirements and define interfaces between components and subsystems.
• Lead project efforts, assign tasks, coordinate teams, and monitor performance.
• Recommend new technologies or reuse existing code to meet business needs.
• Contribute to software testing, documentation, and validation procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and solve programming problems, ensuring quality and schedule adherence.
