Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist with 10 hours of departmental lab and facilities management at Homewood Campus. The role involves routine lab processes under close supervision, with responsibilities including equipment operation, test preparation, and ordering supplies.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and may substitute additional education for experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required as minimum.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience as allowed by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Operate standard equipment.
• Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques.
• Assist with laboratory maintenance, prepare solutions, and order supplies.
• Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
