Job summary

BioMarin is seeking a Laboratory Move Project Manager in Novato, CA to plan, coordinate and execute complex lab relocations involving high-value equipment and regulated environments. You will ensure minimal disruption to research activities while maintaining safety, regulatory and quality standards throughout the move.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Facilities Management, or a related field required.
• Project Management certification preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience in project management, laboratory operations, or facilities-related roles.
• Hands-on experience managing complex laboratory relocations (e.g., 300+ pieces of equipment).
• Experience in biologics or regulated labs preferred.
• Experience coordinating with equipment vendors, OEMs, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Project or Smartsheet.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, process gases, waste, and lab ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑Move Planning & Strategy: define scope, timeline, milestones, and budget.
• Coordination & Communication: liaise with lab teams, facilities, and vendors.
• Compliance & Risk Management: ensure safety, permits, and regulatory adherence.
• Logistics & Execution: manage inventory, sequencing and site moves.
• Post‑Move Activities: recalibration, testing, and validation with OEMs.
